We shot Carlyn and Kyle’s engagement photos at the little known and surprisingly beautiful Dawson Creek Park near where they grew up. I say surprisingly because I was raised relatively close by, and am familiar with the area, have driven by a million times and had no idea Dawson Creek Park was ever there.
I first met Kyle when he was a terror on the high school lacrosse fields of our west Portland suburbs. We played together in college and I’ve seen him grow from Krazy K, Special K, and Krazy Kyle into Kyle The Adult, and now Kyle The Teacher. Kyle has always commanded an odd kind of respect on the field and from his peers, I think it comes from his honest humor, which there is a lot of, and when he speaks seriously, it’s important, and everyone listens.
I’m excited to meet Kyle and Carlyn’s families and hopefully I’ll see a few familiar Duck faces this Saturday.
